Dhaka, Dec 27 (bdnews24.com) – Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said on Sunday her government will do every thing possible to protect the environment, issuing a strong warning against encroachment of rivers and felling of trees that endangers the ecological balance of the country. Hasina also stressed the need for regular bilateral talks with India over Bangladesh's sharing the waters of 54 common rivers, including the Teesta. The prime minister made the remarks at the inaugural ceremony of the 18th National Council-2009 and the 34th Council Meet of the Institution of Diploma Engineers, Bangladesh (IDEB). More...
